Today's amazing finds!

On my adventure to Wal-Mart today, I was looking for new rings in the accessory section. I completely failed and found nothing that fit my hand. Everything was so big!! As I was about to leave I thought I would do a quick search through the clearance, and with much luck I found these beauties!!!

FIND #1: The first thing I found was this pack of earrings, that were a set of three, The first one was these amazing skull earrings, and the eyes have rhinestones in them, the second pair were dangling earrings that were feathers, and the third pair were just simple hoops.  They originally costed $7 but I got them for $1

FIND #2: The second thing I found was this bracelet. I had been looking everywhere for a spiky bracelet. Although this is not the exact style I was looking for, It defiantly was a great piece to get. It's just so classic, and I feel like it will spice up a lot of outfits, to give it that edgy feel! This bracelet originally costed $9 but I got it for $1

OOTD: Band-Tee Remix

For today's outfit I kept it super casual and comfy. I'm wearing an oversized Motley Crüe tee shirt that I ended up cutting the sleeves off and making a plunging v neck. I also put a black tank top underneath and paired it with a cropped denim jacket and a pair of leggings. For shoes I switched between my combat boots and thigh high heeled boots that lace up in the back!
I didn't wear much makeup, just simple foundation, lip gloss and a bit of mascara; and I curled my hair using the CONAIR wand :)
*AND NO I DO NOT HAVE ROLLS ON MY LEGS AHAH, THE PICTURE MADE THEM LOOK REALLY LUMPY AND WARPED FOR SOME REASON

Nails: Mint green, and Purple

I'm pretty sure I've not only found my favourite nail colour of the summer, but I've also found my favourite brand of nail polish.
I was at wal-mart earlier today on a hunt to find mint green nail polish. I knew it was trending for the season and I had to have it.
I found the perfect shade by O.P.I and had picked it up, along with a lilac purple colour because I knew I wanted to paint one nail a different colour.
As I was leaving the makeup department I passed the Maybelline section and in the corner of my eye this rack of nail polish stood out, and I ended up stopping to check it out.
I was pretty surprised to see they had a decent selection, they had some metallics that I was tempted to buy, the gold one was gorgeous, they also had a brand called denim which I'd never seen before and it was a blue sparkly nail polish that literally looked like denim.
I came across the pastels finally, and they had a beautiful mint green, a lilac, pastel pink, sky blue. You name it, they had it.
The best part about it all, it was only $2.00 - I was kinda doubtful at first, thinking that this brand would be watery but when I tried it, it was perfect- It went on super smooth, and thick. I didn't have to go over it twice, although I did of course for good measure aha. It also dried insanely fast.
Overall I was impressed-And I'm defiantly going to be buying this brand more often !

DIY: Nebula Shoes!

DIY: Nebula "hipster" shoes

I made these shoes last summer and got some pretty good use out of them.
As a pre warning, these shoes start to get stiff from the paint, if anyone knows how to fix this let me know!
I found that after a couple wears they started to loosen up a bit, but I don't think it's possible to get rid of the stiffness!
I also recommend you do this outside because it gets very messy!

Materials Needed:
- White Canvas Shoe
- Water
- Paint Brushes
- Paint: Black, White, Purple, Silver, Gold
-Water protectant spray

How to:
-  I wanted to have my shoelaces stark white when I had my shoe, so the first step was to take out the shoelaces, and set them aside
- Then I went ahead and painted the whole shoe black (I recommend that you get a white shoe and paint it black, rather then just buying a black shoe because that way the black paint can mix in with some of the colours)
-Afterwards I stippled white clouds onto the back of the shoe, and up towards the middle
-Once that was completely dry and hardened and I dipped my brush into the white paint and started to flick it onto the shoe more towards the back end
- After I stippled purple clouds at the very back heel of the shoe, and a faint layer in the middle
- Then went over the middle layer of purple, with a little more black
- Once that was completely dry, I started putting in gold stars all over the back heel
- Then painted larger stars in white that looked like plus signs!
- Once that was all dry, I sprayed it with some water protectant, then put the shoe laces in!

It was a simple project, that really made a statement piece every time I wore them- People always asked where I got them, and asked me to make them a pair when I said it was a DIY!

DIY: Pastel Chalking

You will need:
- An old towel
- A spray bottle filled with water
- Gloves
- Clips
- Comb
- Pastels (Soft-Oil)
- Paper
- Straightener
- Hairspray

Directions:

1. Comb and section your hair:
Brush your hair like you normally would, and section your hair. I sectioned my hair into three separate parts, so I had top layer, a middle layer and a bottom layer.

2. Dampen your hair:
Decide what parts of hair you would like to be coloured and dampen it using the spray bottle. I did 2 different pieces on each side on the top layer, 2 different pieces on each side in the middle layer, and 2 different pieces on each side on the bottom layer.

3. Color:
Choose the colour of pastel you are wanting to chalk your hair with, and pick up a piece of dampened hair. Start pressing the pastel against the hair just like you would coloring! I found it easier to lay your hair on a piece of hair and colour it that way, Don't forget to get both sides of the hair, and not just the top

4. Style:
Once you are done chalking your hair, blow dry your hair - and comb through it like you normally would. I found that the colour stayed in longer when I used a heat tool (straightener or curler) on it afterwards. Lightly spray a bit of hairspray on the coloured pieces to stay in place.

*THIS IS VERY MESSY
**COLOUR LASTS ABOUT 1-3 DAYS
***WORKS BEST ON BLONDE HAIR

OOTD: Color Contrast

Sunglasses: Raybans - Black, New Wayfarer
Loop Scarf: Ardenes - Orange,Pink,Green flowers
Vneck: Wal-Mart - Black
Tanktop: J-Crew - Black
Skinny Jeans: Bluenotes - Lime Green
Shoes: TOMS - Black

The outfit may be a little too bold for some people, but it makes me so happy. Bringing in the new warm weather, and spring season with bright colours puts a smile on my face. I couldn't decide weather I wanted my hair down, or in a top knot- Ideas?
